Exciting things happen in the kitchen! I’m always experimenting with new recipes, most of which will never appear on this blog. I tend to look at recipes and think…“that sounds good, but what if I did this instead…” And I’ll be honest, a lot of times it would have been better if I hadn’t done that… But that’s okay. Whether a cooking experiment results in great success (yay!) or in culinary failure (it happens), I always learn something new. I can't wait to see what happens When We Start Cooking.

Quick Skillet Chili Pie
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (16 oz.) can dark red kidney beans, drained
1 (11 oz.) can sweet whole kernel corn, drained
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (1 ¼ oz) pkg. chili seasoning
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Fritos Corn Chips
Steam meat to cook out excess fat (or brown in skillet). Cook onion in large skillet until transparent. Add meat, beans, corn, tomato sauce, and chili seasoning. Stir and cook until heated through. Top with cheese and cover with skillet lid until melted. Serve over corn chips.
